D'Ambrosio close to Virgin deal
Jerome d'Ambrosio is set to make his Formula One debut with Virgin next season.
The former GP2 driver was named as Renault's reserve driver in January, but replaced Lucas di Grassi during Friday practice in Singapore, Japan and Korea for Virgin.
Renault team boss Eric Boullier, who is also head of Gravity, Genii Capital's driver management arm, confirmed the Belgian was in the later stages of negotiatons with Virgin.
"We have 95 percent of the package together," Boullier told Belgian paper Het Nieuwsblad.
"For the remaining five percent it's just a matter of days. I would be pleased to have a signed contract in his pocket by the last race in Abu Dhabi."
