Yas Island, 13 November – Fernando Alonso steered his Ferrari to the fourth fastest time at the end of the third and final free practice session at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the final round of the Formula 1 World Championship, which takes place tomorrow at the Yas Marina Circuit. The Spaniard completed fourteen laps, with a best time of 1.41.490. Ahead of him were the Red Bull duo of Sebastian Vettel fastest in 1.40.696 and Mark Webber (1.40.829) with Lewis Hamilton fourth for McLaren in 1.41.280. Felipe Massa in the other F10 was twelfth in 1.41.978.

Both Ferrari men ran with more downforce from the rear wing, trying both types of tyre, rounding off the session with some practice starts on the grid. Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro was thus able to acquire more useful data to help assess the situation, prior to the all important qualifying which gets underway at 5pm.
