Mark Webber took a Red Bull Formula One car to the streets of Bangkok at the weekend as part of ongoing celebrations of the Thai King's 84th birthday.

After meeting King Bhumibol Adulyadej on Friday, Webber drove Red Bull's demonstration car down Rajdamnoen Avenue, which is decked out in tributes to the Thai royal. 150,000 people turned up to watch the action, the most Red Bull has ever recorded at one of its showcar events.

The Red Bull energy drink was founded in Thailand under the Krating Deang name by Chaleo Yoovidhya and brought to the rest of the world by CEO Dietrich Mateschitz. In recognition of the company's links with Thailand, Webber drove the route waving a Thai flag and led a parade alongside Thailand's top actresses"Aum" Patcharapa Chaichua and "Ploy" Chermarn Boonyasak.
