Ferrari to launch 2011 car in late January

Ferrari have announced that their 2011 challenger will be launched in the final week of January, but they failed to specify an exact date.

"The new season beckons, with the launch of the new car planned for the final week of this month, while testing gets underway on 1st February at Cheste’s Ricardo Tormo circuit near Valencia," read a statement on the teams website.

Many believe it could be launched on January 31st, however, with testing beginning the next day in Valencia, such a late date wouldn't make sense and doesn't fit with previous launches which have taken place earlier in the month, usually in Maranello.

An earlier date is much more likely as the Italian outfit, like McLaren, prefer to reveal their cars to the media and fans at large events, rather than at the circuit before testing, as is the way with the smaller outfits.

So far, only Renault (January 15th), Sauber (31st January) and Toro Rosso (1st February) have confirmed their launch dates.
