Online reveal for Williams’ 2011 race livery

Williams are to unveil their official 2011 race livery at a live online event next week. It follows the track debut of their new FW33 car at the recent Valencia test, since which time the Cosworth-powered machine has been running with an interim blue paint scheme.

The reveal, to take place at 1100 (GMT) on Thursday February 24, will be filmed at Williams’ UK F1 Conference Centre. Once the wraps have come off the team’s new race colours, technical director Sam Michael will present a technical overview of the FW33, detailing the team’s winter development strategy in response to the sport’s regulation changes using 2010’s FW32 as a comparison.

The FW33, to be raced this year by Brazilian veteran Rubens Barrichello and Venezuelan newcomer Pastor Maldonado, has already garnered plenty of attention from rival teams thanks to its extremely compact rear packaging.

It topped the times in the hands of Barrichello on the final day of last week’s Jerez test in Spain and is currently in action at Barcelona’s Circuit de Catalunya, where a four-day test involving all the teams commenced on Friday.
