AC Milan 3-0 Inter: Rossoneri win the derby

MILAN - AC Milan won the 276th Derby della Madonnina thanks to a brace from Pato and Cassano's spot-kick conversion, thus extending their lead over Inter to 5 points.

This was Inter skipper Javier Zanetti's 35th consecutive Milan derby, and the first as a black-and-blue for Leonardo, Pazzini and Ranocchia. AC Milan v Inter was the big match in Week 31 of Serie A 2010/11 but it was more than just a six-pointer at the top of the table: this fixture is the meeting of two great histories and of many, many emotions. 80,000 people crammed into the Stadio Meazza but unfortunately this evening the emotions were greater for Rossoneri fans - and with Pato's strike after just 47 seconds, the emotions couldn't have come much earlier. It gave Inter an uphill task, though the Nerazzurri relentlessly sought an equaliser and came ever so close to finding one before half time through Thiago Motta and Eto'o. 

The Nerazzurri were reduced to ten men in the 54th minute, when Chivu was sent off for a last-man foul on Pato, and it got worse as Pato put AC Milan two up after 62 minutes. Inter tried, against the odds, to get back into the game but inevitably left themselves exposed. Cassano made it 3-0 from the penalty spot after being pushed to the ground by Zanetti.

FIRST HALF - Lucio was ruled out of the game through suspension so Leonardo went for a central defensive pairing of Ranocchia and Chivu, and played captain Zanetti and Maicon in the full-back berths. Pazzini spearheaded the attack with Pandev, Sneijder and Eto'o in support. The Rossoneri, who had Ibrahimovic suspended, started with Robinho and Pato up front.

The match began in the worst possible way for Inter, as AC Milan took the lead after just 47 seconds. Pato began the move on the edge of the box: he laid off to Gattuso, whose pass put Robinho in with a shooting opportunity; Julio Cesar came out to block the shot but the rebound fell for Pato to fire home. For Inter, Pandev was the first to line up a shot down the other end, on 6 minutes, when his long-range effort was smothered by Abbiati. Milan soon threatened again themselves when Pato's cross curled just too far ahead of Robinho (8 minutes). A minute later the Rossoneri had a penalty appeal turned down, after Seedorf's venomous volley hit Maicon's hand - the Brazilian accused of spreading his arms. Sneijder was disturbed by laser beams as he waited to take his 30-yard free kick after Zambrotta had brought down Pandev, and the Dutchman's attempt to catch Abbiati out sailed over the bar. 

Inter's first real chance came in the 19th minute: Pandev played in Pazzini, who squeezed his way through two defenders and poked a shot towards goal, forcing Abbiati to make a great reflex save. AC Milan turned the pressure up once more with a long-range drive from Zambrotta (25 mins), before Pato twice threatened again but was denied by Ranocchia (25) and Zanetti (27). Julio Cesar's goal shook on 37 minutes, after Van Bommel's 35-yard piledriver took a deflection off Chivu and came back off the bar. Soon after Thiago Motta thought he had scored when he nodded goalwards from Sneijder's corner: Abbiati looked to be behind the goalline when he clawed away with two hands but the ball probably didn't cross the line. If that wasn't an equaliser, Inter should have found one 2 minutes before the break: Pandev's cross flicked on by Cambiasso landed for Eto'o at the far post, yet, only yards out and with just the keeper to beat, he dragged his shot wide. No added time was played and the Nerazzurri went in a goal behind.

SECOND HALF - The same 22 players came out after the interval, but Gattuso was forced off with a muscle injury 6 minutes into the half, Flamini coming on to replace him. Another key moment in the match came in the 54th minute when Chivu was sent off for clipping Pato from behind as the last man. From the resulting free kick, Julio Cesar was well placed to parry a fierce strike from Thiago Silva (56 mins), but could do nothing to stop Pato making it 2-0: Seedorf found Abate in space on the right and the Rossoneri full-back hit an angled cross towards the back post where Pato was on hand to double the Rossoneri's lead. That prompted Leonardo to bring on Milito for Pazzini but Julio Cesar remained Inter's busiest man, denying Robinho from close range. 

Stankovic was brought on after 71 minutes yet it was the 'home' side that continued to pile on the pressure; Cordoba saved the day as he prevented Robinho, who had been one-on-one with Julio Cesar, from scoring. The Brazilian duel continued in the 77th minute, with the keeper sticking out a foot to block an angled shot and further frustrate the ex-Man City player. With one minute of normal time remaining Zanetti's foul on Cassano inside the box gave the second-half substitute the chance to score from the spot, which he did to make it 3-0. However, he was booked for taking his shirt off in celebration, which in hindsight wasn't a wise move because he picked up a second yellow for a high challenge almost immediately afterwards, meaning he had to leave the pitch 11 minutes after coming on. After 3 minutes of stoppage time, Rizzoli blew an end to the derby, with the honours going to the Rossoneri this time.

Milan-Inter: 3-0, il derby ai rossoneri

MILANO - E' con una doppietta di Pato e con un gol, su rigore, di Cassano che il Milan si aggiudica il derby numero 276, lasciando l'Inter a 5 punti di distacco in classifica.

E' il 35° derby consecutivo per capitan Zanetti e il primo in nerazzurro per Leonardo, Pazzini e Ranocchia. Milan-Inter è il big match della 32^ giornata della serie A Tim 2010-2011, ma forse anche qualcosa di più. E' l'incrocio di storie, tante, e di emozioni, almeno ottantamila, tante quante sono le presenze registrate questa sera allo stadio "Meazza". E le emozioni, non proprio belle per i nerazzurri, arrivano dopo soli 43 secondi: il gol di Pato è un lampo che mette subito in salita il cammino dell'Inter che continuerà, senza sosta, a cercare il pareggio che Thiago Motta ed Eto'o sfioreranno soltanto.

Ne resteranno solo dieci di nerazzurri in campo dal 54' per l'espulsione di Chivu, fallo su Pato ultimo uomo, ma le beffe non sono finte: arriva al 62' il raddoppio rossonero ancora con Pato, mentre è Cassano a chiudere il match sul 3-0, trasformando il calcio di rigore dopo il fallo commesso da Zanetti.

PRIMO TEMPO - Con Lucio squalificato, Leonardo sceglie Ranocchia e Chivu come coppia al centro della difesa con capitan Zanetti e Maicon terzini. Unica punta Pazzini davanti al tridente Pandev, Sneijder, Eto'o. L'assente, dall'altra parte è Ibrahimovic, in attacco il Milan punta sulla coppia Robinho-Pato.

Il match ha inizio, ma non si mette bene per l'Inter. Il Milan sblocca il risultato dopo 43 secondi con Pato: proprio il brasiliano dà avvio all'azione che con la complicità di Gattuso manda Robinho al tiro, esce Julio Cesar, ma Pato è lì e sul rimpallo ribadisce in rete di destro per l'1-0. E' Pandev dall'altra parte, a cercare per primo la porta rossonera con un sinistro dalla distanza che Abbiati blocca a terra (6'), ma è ancora il Milan ad essere pericoloso con il cross di Pato che Robinho non intercetta di un soffio a pochi passi dalla porta (8'). I rossoneri reclamano il calcio di rigore al 9' quando il tiro di Seedorf è murato dal corpo di Maicon, accusato di aver allargato troppo il braccio destro.

Sono soprattutto i laser a disturbare Sneijder sul calcio di punizione da circa 30 metri, dopo il fallo di Zambrotta su Pandev, che termina alto (16'), ma arriva al 19' la prima grande risposta dell'Inter con l'assist del macedone per Pazzini, che vede chiudersi la porta grazie a un perfetto tempismo di Abbiati. Zambrotta che, dalla distanza, non trova di poco la porta (25') e gli interventi in chiusura, provvidenziali, di Ranocchia prima (25') e Zanetti poi (27'), entrambi su Pato, frenano l'offensiva rossonera. Trema la porta nerazzurra al 37' quando dalla distanza il destro fulminante di Van Bommel, complice la deviazione di Chivu, colpisce in pieno la traversa. Non è un gol, ma lo sembra, quello che Thiago Motta sfiora con il colpo di testa sul corner di Sneijder e che Abbiati con entrambe le braccia spinge lontano dalla linea di porta (38'). Era quasi gol quello di Motta, poteva esserlo ancor di più quello di Eto'o che al 43', raccogliendo il cross di Pandev, non trova la rete a pochi passi da Abbiati, mandando palla sul fondo. Senza recupero, squadre a riposo sull'1-0.

SECONDO TEMPO - Ripresa al via con gli stessi ventidue in campo, ma dopo 6' Gattuso è costretto a lasciare il campo per un problema muscolare, al suo posto c'è Flamini. Cambia ancora il match al 9' e cambia in peggio ancora per l'Inter, causa il fallo di Chivu su Pato, ultimo uomo, che costa l'espulsione al difensore rumeno. Dal calcio di punizione dal limite, è un super Julio Cesar quello che si oppone con i pugni alla conclusione potente di Thiago Silva (11'), ma nulla può il portiere nerazzurro sul raddoppio targato ancora Pato: Seedorf serve Abate che con un diagonale apre per Pato che va incontro alla palla di testa e mette in rete per il 2-0.

Arriva il primo cambio di Leonardo: fuori Pazzini dentro Milito, ma è ancora di Julio Cesar la scena principale, vedi la chiusura in calcio d'angolo sul tiro di Robinho. Dal 26' il derby è anche di Stankovic, ma è Cordoba a evitare il gol del 3-0 deviando in corner la conclusione di Robinho a tu per tu con Julio Cesar. Il confronto si ripete al 32', questa volta il portiere nerazzurro respinge con un piede il destro del rossonero. Al 44', una mano di Zanetti sulla spalla di Cassano non lascia dubbi a Rizzoli: calcio di rigore al Milan che il fantasista barese trasforma nel 3-0. Via la maglia per esultare, peccato che il fallo commesso poco dopo gli valga anche l'espulsione dopo 11' dal suo ingresso in campo. Dopo 3' di recupero, arriva il fischio di Rizzoli. Il derby è rossonero.
