Ferrari Challenge North America – The Challenge takes to the track on the streets of Toronto
Maranello, 9 July – The fourth round of the North American Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli got underway today with qualifying and the first races at the Toronto street circuit, at the same meeting as the Honda Indy Toronto, the Indy Car race which is an annual fixture for the Canadian city. Among the fourteen gentleman drivers at the wheel of the 458 Challenge, pole position went to Harry Cheung in the Ferrari of Silicon Valley car. Behind him came two Ferrari of Houston cars, that of Mark McKenzie and Cooper MacNeil. Of those running the F430 Challenge, quickest were a trio of Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale cars, driven by Rob Metka, Juan Hinestrosa and Francesco Piovanetti. The 24 Ferraris will race off the grid at 16.50 local time, in one race with separate classifications, while the second race will take place at 10.30 Sunday morning.
