'Not fantastic' day for Massa

Felipe Massa said that fourth and fifth on the grid for the German Grand Prix was "not fantastic" for Ferrari.

Massa's team-mate Fernando Alonso had looked competitive all weekend, and appeared to be the biggest threat to Red Bull's domination of pole position ahead of qualifying. In reality, though, it was Lewis Hamilton who was more competitive, setting a lap just 0.055s off pole position, while Alonso was 0.3s back in fourth and Massa a further 0.5s behind in fifth place.

When asked by the BBC if he was happy to be ahead of the Mercedes and the McLaren of Jenson Button, Massa focussed on those ahead of him and said that the weather could play a major role in the race.

"For sure it's better to start in front of everybody so that's not the case!" Massa said. "But anyway we're fourth and fifth - we saw that Red Bull is very strong; McLaren also has a good pace, so we need to be ready for tomorrow. Maybe it's raining so we need to be ready for everything but we wait and see what the situation will be tomorrow. It was not fantastic, but let's concentrate on tomorrow."
