FROM 0 TO 100 IN 5.5…SEASONS

Jul 28, 2011

We’re not big on history at Scuderia Toro Rosso, preferring to look forward, to think of the future, rather than dwell on the past.

Maybe when the day comes that we can look back at championship wins, a sense of the past might be worth having, but not just yet. This could explain why it almost escaped our collective attention that this Sunday at the Hungaroring will mark our one hundredth participation in a Formula 1 Grand Prix. The very first one dates back to 12 March 2006, when our two drivers were Vitantonio Liuzzi and rookie, Scott Speed. We also had Neel Jani on Friday driving duties for us. Tonio and Scott went on to qualifying fifteenth and sixteenth respectively and then eleventh and thirteenth in the race. Also celebrating this weekend is McLaren driver Jenson Button, who has been around twice as long as us, as he will celebrate his 200th GP start on Sunday.
