GT Open – Ferrari in contention at Red Bull Ring
Maranello, 27 August – The fifth round of the GT Open Championship took place today at Austria’s Red Bull Ring, near Spielberg. Among the 25 cars entered, were the Ferrari 458 Italia GT of Miguel Ramos and Matteo Cressoni (Racing Team Edil Cris) and the JMB Racing car of Soheil Ayari and Joel Camathias which finished second and third respectively, behind the Andrea Ceccato-Alvaro Barba Porsche 911 in the Super GT division. In the GTS category, the win went to the 458 Italia GT3, crewed by Stefano Bizzarri and Andrea Rizzoli (AF Corse,) followed home by the Aston Martin DBRS9 of Matteo Malucelli-Gabriele Lanceri and the F430 GT3 of Beniamino Caccia and Massimo Mantovani (Kessel Racing.) The second race of this busy weekend gets underway tomorrow at 13.20.
