Another day, another birthday at AT&T Williams. This time we’re sending a long distance message of congrats to Eduardo Barrichello, Rubens’ son, who turned 10 today. ‘Dudu’ is not in Singapore this weekend, so we hope he’s having a good time back home in Sao Paulo. Brazilians know how to party...

What is it about this race? There is the same amount of on-track activity for the cars, yet the timetable somehow affords people more down time. Yesterday the AT&T Williams race team had 18 hours off – that’s unheard of over a Grand Prix weekend!

The six-hour curfew, during which no-one is allowed to work on the cars, ended at 3pm today. Toro Rosso had everything under control in the pit garage and at 2.50pm, the team’s mechanics could be seen queuing outside the paddock turnstiles with everyone else, waiting until they could enter. Unfortunately, team boss Franz Tost breezed past them and promptly broke the curfew by entering the paddock. Doh!

This morning marked the launch of McLaren Automotive Asia in Singapore. Ron Dennis, chairman of the McLaren Group, took to the stage and promptly announced his intention to make McLaren a billion dollar business within 10 years. Significantly, he added that F1 would be only 10 percent of that revenue. Will that really be enough to run the team?
