Korean GP - Alonso fourth and Massa seventh on a rainy Friday

Yeongam, 14 October – The Ferraris of Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa set the fourth and seventh best times of the second session of free practice for the Korean Grand Prix, the 16th round of the championship calendar. An improvement in the weather allowed all the drivers to take to the track, albeit on a surface that was still awkward due to the rain which had fallen in the morning and which remained in varying quantities along the 5km Yeongam circuit. The McLarens of Lewis Hamilton (1.50.828) and Jenson Button (1.50.932) topped the times ahead of the Red Bull of Sebastian Vettel (1.52.646) and the first Ferrari of Alonso (1.52.774). Three places further back came the 150° Italia of Felipe Massa with 1.53.707. This weekend marks the Brazilian’s 150th participation in a grand prix race weekend, celebrated by a special logo on the shoulders of his overalls and a sticker on his crash helmet. Both Ferrari drivers used intermediate tyres in this afternoon session, before Alonso ended with a run on Soft tyres to complete an aerodynamics test that features an experimental front wing. The final hour of free practice will take place at 1100 tomorrow ahead of the important qualifying session at 1400 local time.
