Chevy Camaro ZL1 is compared by the Americans with Mercedes SLS AMG, Audi R8 GT and Maserati GranTurismo. The muscle car from Chevrolet is more powerful and much cheaper and will be ppresent at LA Auto Show 2011.

Chevrolet presented the complete technical details of the most powerful Camaro ever created. We are talking about the Chevy Camaro ZL1 a 580 horsepower muscle car fitted with a 6.2-liter LSA V8 engine, supercharged with a mechanical compressor, which can reach a top speed of 184 mph (296 km/h) and accelerates from 0-60 mph (0-100 km/h) in 3.9 seconds (automatic transmission).
With a manual transmission, Chevy Camaro ZL1 is somewhat slower, requiring 4.0 seconds and is capable of 180 mph (289 km/h). Even so, the muscle car offers 175 hp more than the Maserati GranTurismo, 20 horsepower in addition to the Audi R8 GT and 15 hp more to Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG.

Chevy Camaro ZL1 Price and Technology
As if the extra power wouldn’t be enough, Chevy Camaro ZL1 also boasts with a higher level of torque. The Chevrolet muscle car prides itself with a higher power level to Ferrari 458 Italia, with more torque than the Aston Martin DB9 V12 and a power/weight ratio better than the Porsche 911 Carrera GTS. In the U.S., Chevy Camaro ZL1 will fight with Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, of which is said it will exceed the threshold of 620 hp.
Chevy Camaro ZL1 has an advanced suspension, called MagneRide. This has shock absorbers filled with MagnetoRheologic fluid (iron particles in synthetic liquid suspension) and makes 1.000 adjustments per second. To be suitable for both enthusiasts and pilots, as well as muscle car novices, Chevy Camaro ZL1 has five settings traction control system, although it is obviously optimized for performance.
The Chevy Camaro ZL1 debut will take place this week at LA Auto Show 2011. For now, no information on the possible debut of the American muscle car on the European market, which will have a starting price of $54,095 (~€40,300 ~L34,330).
