Toyota Avensis 2012 facelift into production

Toyota began production for the new Toyota Avensis 2012 facelift at the TMUK factory in UK. Toyota Avensis 2012will hit the auto market in the first part of next year.


At the Toyota factory in Burnaston, United Kingdom, production began for its new Toyota Avensis facelift. Toyota Avensis 2012 debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show just two months ago and the first units will reach Toyota’s representatives in Europe in the first half of next year.

The plant in Burnaston is the center’s production for Avensis and was “mother” for all three generations of Avensis launched from 1997 to present. From 1992 until now, the factory that has received an investment of 1.34 billion Euros (~L1.15 billion).

British-built, and with petrol engines sourced from Toyota’s Deeside factory, plus ultra-efficient diesels, it is a stronger market contender than ever before.”

Toyota Avensis 2012 – the facelift
Toyota Avensis 2012 facelift has a bolder and more refined exterior and has received a number of improvements to enhance the quality, comfort and NVH index (noise, vibration, harshness). The model has a new design philosophy that combines LED lighting blocks with bold lines.

While the external dimensions remained unchanged, Toyota Avensis 2012 was redesigned to look more elegant and athletic. The front projects future family and has a new hood, new front grille and two new optical blocks narrower incorporating daylight. The posterior has also been redesigned, offering a dynamic and modern look.

Toyota Avensis 2012 has a new and improved quality of the interior, finishing is improved, while the materials used are top quality. The dashboard lighting clocks were changed to have a premium look.

The best-selling Toyota Avensis ‘s engine, 2.0 D-4D, was revised to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, reaching now 119 grams CO2 per kilometer, a 15%reduction for the 124 hp unit.

Toyota Avensis 2012 Engines
Toyota Avensis 2012 engine range includes a 2.2 liter D-4D diesel unit of 150 hp, either offered with particulate filter and NOx reduction – (DPNR) or only with DPF (particulate filter). The DPNR 2.2-liter D-4D engine version is offered in a high specification, which develops 177 horsepower.

The petrol engines available on Toyota Avensis 2012 are three in number and are represented by a 1.6-liter unit and 132 hp, a 1.8-liter unit and 147 hp and a 2.0-liter unit and 152 hp.

All engines are offered in standard with a manual transmission with six reports. Optionally, the DPNR 2.2 D-4D 150 hp transmission can be equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission, while the 1.8-and 2.0-liter gasoline can be coupled to a Toyota Multidrive S transmission with continuously variation.

So, this is the new Toyota Avensis 2012 facelift with a new interior, enhanced engines and small aesthetic improvements.
