3 QUESTIONS TO JEROME BEFORE BRAZIL

24 Nov 2011

Jerome, what do you think about finishing your first F1 season in Brazil?

It is a very exciting feeling to finish this season in this country where F1 has a real history. It is a fantastic track and the Stadium section is awesome. It is a very particular track and we will have to find the good balance. The fans here are so passionate and our sport is treated as a religion, Brazil gave so much to F1. It is so weird to think that it is already the last race of the season.

Are you planning any vacation to recover of this long season?

Not yet. You know I could continue to race in December if necessary. In fact, I will race for Karting events here in Brazil and in Paris-Bercy later in December. I had to compete in Barcelona too but it has been cancelled. I have already other official planned events with partners and I do not think December will be a full month of vacation… (laugh)… I will be very excited to prepare soon next season and I hope to hear good news as soon as possible... Vacation is always a nice moment to see my family and my friends but racing is a so amazing pleasure that I am already ready to train hard for next challenges after few days of rest. Before thinking about all these things, I am only focused on my GP here in Brazil. I want to end this season with a nice result. I was very frustrated of my race in Abu Dhabi where a brake problem stopped my race. You can count on me to make my best this weekend.

Could you make a short summary of your first season in F1?

First, I think I have made a good season to be honest and I have answered to the missions given by my team and my management. I am very happy with my regularity during the whole season and especially during the races. My teammate is a very good and experienced driver and I think I was very close him very often. I finished 15 races and it is an important thing to help the team in terms of feedback. I have so many good souvenirs: my first starting grid in Australia, the crazy Canada GP which ended a tough weekend with my crash during the free practices and you cannot imagine the feeling in Spa for the Belgian GP. To see all these Belgian flags and meeting all my fans were unforgettable moments. I just want to believe I will live all these feelings again next year. I am very conscious it was only my first year and I can improve many points to become a better driver. You cannot imagine how the F1 world is different of the others and I think I could feel relax very quickly but a second year will be for sure very different and a real new challenge to confirm my first season.

Good luck JDA...
