General Motors unveiled the Cadillac Urban Luxury Concept at its North Hollywood Advanced Design Center in California on Tuesday.

Introduced on Wednesday: Cadillac Urban Luxury Concept

What is it? If Aston Martin is really considering bringing its Toyota microcar-based Cygnet concept to market, doesn’t Cadillac need an ugly duckling of its own? This is it.

What makes it tick? The accompanying news release says it has a “concept” hybrid propulsion system that “could offer projected fuel economy of 56 m.p.g. in the city and 65 m.p.g. on the highway.” “Concept” in this use means the same thing as “pretend.”

How much, how soon? As unthinkable as it may be, every manufacturer may, in the not-too-distant future, have to offer vehicles that look more like a teacup than a Coupe de Ville.

How’s it look? Two words: Wall-E World.
