Details: The British Community in Thailand Foundation for the Needy (BCTFN) will hold its traditional fund-raising event - Ploenchit Fair - for Thai charities at Shrewsbury International School, 1922 Charoen Krung Road on Saturday 27th November 2010. Ploenchit Fair is now in its 53rd year of assisting the needy in Thailand.
The theme of Ploenchit Fair is a traditional British family fairground. More than 2,000 members of the British community voluntarily organise and run over 150 stalls and attractions. British companies and organisations, together with international "friends", donate goods and materials. Attendance in the last few years averaged around 15,000 fairgoers and BCTFN has donated more than THB 50 million to some 30 long standing charities plus emergency requests from other charity organizations since 2000.
Today the Ploenchit Fair is arguably the biggest event on the British calendar in Thailand and is known and admired throughout South East Asia. Given the continued need for funds on the part of the charities we support, we hope you will be able to assist us by making a financial donation (all sums however small are very welcome), promotional goods or donating a major prize or smaller prizes for the Fair stalls, including the Grand Raffle, that is organised by the BCTFN.
