Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli – news for 2011 

Maranello, 3 November - In the build up to the 2010 Finali Mondiali Ferrari, which will take place at Valencia’s Ricardo Tormo circuit from 25 to 28 November, the Maranello Corse Clienti Department announces changes which come into effect for next season’s racing.

Pending approval from the FIA World Council meeting on 3 November, the 2011 calendar will expand to include a five race series in the Asia-Pacific region, with the first event taking place at the Fuji circuit in Japan.

For next year’s one-make series, the 458 Challenge car will line up on track alongside the F430 Challenge, having first completed some joint test sessions in early March.

As in 2010, the Italian and European series of the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli will get underway at the Monza circuit. They will also return, after a two year break, to Austria’s historic Zeltweg circuit, which hosts the Ferrari Racing Days on 4 September. For the first time, running in one race with separate classifications, the two series will also provide the curtain raiser to the famous Le Mans 24 Hours race on 11 June. Misano is back on the calendar for the Italian series on 10 July, while the European runners will be tackle the legendary Spa-Francorchamps circuit on 7 August.

The North American serie will run over six rounds held in the United States and Canada, apart from the extra seventh event which as usual sees competitors race at the Finali Mondiali Ferrari.
