Sergio Perez secured second place in the GP2 drivers' championship after a dominant display in Saturday's feature race saw him win by over twenty seconds from Oliver Turvey and Sam Bird.
After overtaking polesitter Turvey into turn one from the lights, Perez never looked back and Turvey was lucky things did not go from bad to worse after he touched wheels with Fabio Leimer.
The drive of the day, however, came from Bird who carved his way through the field from 18th on the grid. Following a safety car period after a spin from Adrian Zaugg, Bird was upto sixth after team-mate Bianchi and Max Chilton collided. Following a well-timed pit-stop, Bird slotted in ahead of Luiz Razia and a left rear tyre problem for Romain Grosjean after his stop promoted Bird another place to third.
Champion Pastor Maldonado endured a frustrating race. He was given a drive-through penalty for passing under yellow flags during the safety car period and after serving his penalty and stopping for fresh rubber he could only manage to finish 17th.
