Hispania: The team is not on sale

Hispania Racing have denied reports that the team has been put up for sale by Spanish owner Jose Ramon Carabante.

Carabante acquired the fledgling team a month before their F1 debut from fellow Spaniard Adrian Campos after the outfit had run into serious financial difficulty.

The team failed to impress in 2010 and were dogged by rumours of financial troubles and even claims that they would not see out the season.

Now the rumours are back with Spanish sports newspaper AS reporting that Carabante and his associates had decided to sell the team, as they too struggled to find the cash needed to improve the team.

The team, though, has denied the rumours.

"The team is not on sale, we are working for 2011," a spokeswoman told Reuters.

"Carabante is working on getting sponsors and investors. One Spanish group is interested in joining the team but things are not so easy nowadays in the world."
