Max Chilton completed a straight-line aero test for Force India at Kemble airfield in Gloucestershire yesterday.

Chilton, who has been racing for Carlin in GP2 during 2011, was called upon after both Paul di Resta and Adrian Sutil were otherwise engaged. It was his first drive in a Formula One car and, despite having the day cut short by an exhaust problem, Chilton impressed, with race support engineer Oliver Knighton saying his ability to learn the procedures quickly allowed the team to complete the majority of its programme.

"Today's programme at Kemble was our fourth full-size aerodynamic test of the season," Knighton said, "We use these days to collect data that helps us understand if the car is performing as the wind tunnel says it should. We were able to record the important aero data, which we will analyse over the next few days.

"I'd like to say a special 'thank you' to Max, who enjoyed his first taste of a Formula One car today. He prepared himself very well and adapted quickly to the procedures and systems on the car, all of which allowed us to make good progress with the programme."
