Horner: Drivers free to battle each other

Red Bull will stick to their philosophy of not imposing team orders despite the FIA's decision to lift the ban on the controversial policy.

Officials from the Milton Keynes-based team were pretty vocal in their stance against team orders this year after a furore broke out over Ferrari's decision to order Felipe Massa to allow his team-mate Fernando Alonso to overtake him at the German Grand Prix.

Ferrari were handed a fine for their actions but the World Motor Sport Council has since decided to scrap the ban on team orders.

Red Bull team principal Chrisitan Horner, who opted not to follow Ferrari's lead during the final few races of the season, says his drivers will be free to go head-to-head next season.

"I don't think it changes anything for us," he told Autosport. "We will go into next year giving both drivers the same support as we always have.

"The important thing for us is that it is what they do on the track. We gave both drivers the very best we could this year and that is the way we will go into next year.

Horner also insisted his relationship with Webber is "fine" despite the Australian's decision not to tell him about a serious shoulder injury that he picked up before the Japanese Grand Prix.

"Mark and I have known each other for a long time and it is important for him to take some time out this winter and come back stronger - and heal fully," Horner said.

"I am sure he will come back even stronger in 2011."
