Ferrari car set for late January launch
Ferrari have confirmed their new challenger will be launched in the final week of January and make its official track debut in Valencia.
The first pre-season test of 2011 will take place at the Ricardo Tormo circuit in the port city from February 1.
The Italian outfit also revealed their chassis passed a series of crash tests before Christmas.
"Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro is fully back to work today (Monday)," a report on their website read.
"Over the festive period, some areas continued work on the design of the new car and on parts production and in fact, in the days immediately leading up to Christmas the first 2011 car chassis underwent and passed a series of crash tests.
"However, only today is the full workforce back at their posts. The new season beckons, with the launch of the new car planned for the final week of this month, while testing gets underway on 1st February at Cheste's "Ricardo Tormo" circuit near Valencia."
It will also be time for fun and games for Fernando Alonso, Felipe Massa and the rest of the Ferrari squad from next week.
"Next Monday sees the start of the twenty first running of "Wrooom," the event that has traditionally brought together the Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro drivers and their two-wheeled counterparts from the Ducati Marlboro Team, as well as members of the specialist media on the snow-capped mountains of Madonna di Campiglio," the report continued.
"For Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa it will be a chance to take up the reins once more in a relaxed environment and informal setting, as well as tackling some winter sports before taking on the usual challenge that brings the week to a close, when they get behind the wheel on the frozen lake in the Trentina region on Friday 14 January."
