Stefano Domenicali has revealed that Ferrari's 2011 car will be unveiled to the public on January 28 in Maranello.

Speaking at the Wrooom media event in the Italian Dolomites, Domenicali confirmed Ferrari would hold a traditional launch ahead of the first week of testing starting on February 1.

The car has been designed in an upgraded wind tunnel and there are high expectations within the team. However, head of aerodynamics Nikolas Tombazis said in a recent interview that the car launched at the end of this month will be significantly upgraded before the first race in Bahrain.

"We are expecting a fairly big step up for the first race," he said. "The configuration has a lot of development potential."

Ferrari said that last Friday, the first chassis was being put together by the car assembly department.

Domenicali also announced to the assembled reporters that he is stepping down as FOTA's vice chairman, even though the current chairman Martin Whitmarsh is staying on. He said his successor will be announced soon.
