Petrov: I haven't learnt anything from Kubica

Vitaly Petrov says he hasn't personally learnt anything from Robert Kubica during his rookie season.

The Russian driver joined the Enstone based squad, partnering the Pole which, many thought would benefit the 26-year-old as the former-BMW driver is highly regarded as one of the best drivers on the grid.

However, Petrov explained that Kubica keeps himself to himself, although he did admit that his team-mates data came in handy.

"If you're a team-mate of Robert, you can’t learn anything from him because he's such a closed person," he said during the Autosport show.

"So you just can check his data, see how he is working and what he says to his engineer, that’s it. Apparently I did not learn so much from him, but I learned from the data the way of his driving and how he talked with his engineer."

Petrov is confident his 2011 season will be easier after some lacklustre performances in 2010 which saw him scored just 27 points compared to his team-mates 136.

"As a rookie it was learning a lot about the car and tracks and how in general a team was working in Formula One and, I had a little bit of pressure, nerves. Next season it will be easier for me."
