Maldonado not feeling the pressure

Pastor Maldonado insists he's not under pressure this season despite Williams ruthlessly sacking his predecessor after he claimed a pole position.

Maldonado landed a Williams race-seat for this year's Championship after the team opted to sack rookie driver Nico Hulkenberg.

The German's ousting came as a surprise to many as his performances improved throughout the campaign and he even claimed pole position at the Brazilian GP.

But despite having witnessed Hulkenberg's downfall, Maldonado insists he's not feeling the heat.

"No, I don't have this kind of pressure," he said. "I will do my best and understand everything, and to do the maximum for the team."

The Venezuelan driver had his first taste of Williams' new FW32 at Valencia earlier this week, finishing 11th on Wednesday and seventh on Thursday.

As for his objective for this year's Championship, it is quite simply "to learn, be really quick, do my best for the team and improve race-by-race."
