Toro Rosso launch the STR6
Scuderia Toro Rosso became the second team to launch their 2011 challenger on Tuesday, with the STR6 introduced to the public.
For the second year running the Toro Rosso model was produced entirely by the Italian team.
As was the case with the other teams that have already launched this year, the STR6 has a higher noise than in previous years.
The same two drivers who did duty for the team last year - Sebastien Buemi and Jaime Alguersuari - will occupy the two race seats for 2011, while Daniel Ricciardo has joined the Faenza-based outfit as their reserve driver.
Speaking at the launch, Alguersuari admitted that the season was an important one for both him and the team.
"I think it is definitely a key season for me this year," he explained.
"Every season is important and definitely this one is going to be very significant for myself, because it is my second full year in Formula One and because it is the second year that Toro Rosso builds its own car, so it will be completely decisive for our future, for the future of Toro Rosso and for my future, because we obviously need to target our competitors which are Williams, Force India and Sauber. We need to fight against them and finish the Championship ahead of them," the Spaniard added.
Buemi reiterated his team-mate's desire to move up the ranks, stating that eighth place in the Constructors' Championship should be Toro Rosso's goal.
"I have big expectations to be honest, as I have quite a lot of experience now: I know all the circuits, I know how Formula 1 works and we also have quite a lot of experience in terms of building up the car.
"So, if all goes well and hopefully it will, we should be able to score many points and finish in the top eight of the Constructors' Championship."
