Williams reveal the FW33
Williams launched their 2011 model, the FW33, on Tuesday and it's a car they're hopeful will see them rise up the pecking order.
The Grove-based squad continued their tradition of using interim colours during pre-season testing, with the FW33's livery for the upcoming season to be released at a later stage.
Williams technical director Sam Michael described the car as 'aggressive'.
"Until you start testing you're never sure how you're going to stack up against the opposition, but we're optimistic. We think this is a good car, but we'll have a better overall picture in a few weeks time," said Michael.
"The design of this year's car has been pretty smooth.
"We've improved our way of working by increasing the communication between the mechanical and aerodynamic departments, and that improved our decision making processes. It allowed us to increase the optimisation time spent on each part of the car," he added.
The Williams management are hopeful that the FW33 will see them move up the grid instead of continuing the team's downward slide.
"Our ambition is get back to the front of the grid," explained Sir Frank Williams.
"We know that won't be easy, but we hope this car will take us closer to the leaders than we were in 2010. As a team, we're as ambitious now as we've ever been."
Rubens Barrichello will put the FW33 through its paces on Tuesday, before sharing the duties with new team-mate Pastor Maldonado for the second day of testing before the Venezuelan takes over for Thursday's fina day.
