Williams: Not a productive day

Williams were frustrated when a problem with their rear wing hydraulic actuator curb Pastor Maldonado's running at Jerez on Thursday.

Pastor Maldonado managed just 13 laps on the opening day of the Jerez test after the team discovered the problem on his installation lap early in the morning.

As a result, the Venezuelan spent most of the day stuck in the pits and finished well down the timesheets, 14s off the pace.

"It has not been a productive day for us I'm afraid," said technical director Sam Michael.

"After the installation lap we had a problem with a bleed screw for the rear wing hydraulic actuator.

"It is straightforward to correct, however during the day it caused a lot of downtime as we shuffled parts around to get the car out on the track.

"On the positive side, in the late afternoon we did complete all the aero testing that required the front tyre rake, so that will come off tonight."
