Suvarnabumi Airport holds the “Chinese New Year and Sweet Valentine’s Day” event to welcome passengers

Suvarnabumi Airport holds the “Chinese New Year Festival and Sweet Valentine’s Day” event in the passenger terminal throughout February to welcome and impress passengers.

Flying Officer Anirut Thanomkulbutra, General Manager of Suvarnabhumi Airport, Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT) said that the airport holds the “Chinese New Year Festival and Valentine’s Day” event from January 27th to February 15th, 2011 to celebrate the Chinese New Year and the festival of love or Valentine’s Day and to pass on good fortune, happiness and love to passengers on the occasions of these special days. In the event, the Chinese New Year booths will be set up in the arrival and departure halls, where airport users can have fun making mobile straps as souvenirs for free. Both halls will be decorated in the Chinese New Year and Valentine’s Day themes so that passengers can take pictures for the souvenirs of visiting the airport during this period. The airport has also prepared signage, brochures in Chinese and officers who speak Chinese to facilitate Chinese passenger journeys.

The General Manager also said that the airport will be busier than usual during the period because the airport has to accommodate passengers from additional 467 chartered flights, the number of which is considered highest in the airport’s history. From the estimation that there would be more than 180,000 passengers per day, the airport has cooperated with the related authorities such as airlines, travel police, Immigration Bureau and entrepreneurs to facilitate passenger journeys during the festivals.
