TAT PARTNERS WITH EVA AIR TO PROMOTE EUROPEAN FAMILY TRAVEL TO THAILAND

Bangkok, March 11, 2011 — The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and Eva Air are teaming up for a joint marketing campaign to promote family travel from Europe.

The “Amazing Thailand – Amazing Family” campaign will start in London targetted at the UK market and expand to Amsterdam and Vienna. The Taiwan-based airline, a part of the Evergreen Group conglomerate, serves all three cities from Bangkok 13 times a week, using Boeing 747-400 and Boeing 777 aircraft.

The soft-launch of the campaign took place at the ITB Berlin 2011, the world’s largest travel show, on 9 March.

Under the campaign, EVA Air will offer special fares for one child and a free ticket for one infant travelling with 2 adults for a holiday in Thailand between May – October 2011. The tickets will be available for sale from March.

The campaign will be jointly marketed by Eva Air and TAT via travel agents workshops in London, Amsterdam, Vienna, Brussels, Frankfurt, Linz, Grasse, Budapest and Prague.

They will also advertise via billboards, newspapers, radio, and the Internet, and organise media fam trips, for which Eva Air will provide air-tickets while TAT handles the ground arrangements.

The campaign is expected to generate the following targetted number of visitors: From UK (London) 9570 pax, the Netherlands (Amsterdam) 3700 pax, and Austria (Vienna) 1870 pax.

TAT Governor Suraphon Svetasreni said, “We are very happy to partner with Eva Air for this unique marketing campaign designed for a very specific target market during a limited period of time.”

He added, “Thailand is a good destination for family travellers. Thailand’s broad range of accommodation and exemplary service standards are perfectly placed to serve family travellers. At the same time, there are many activities for families to do together; such as, golf, spa and wellness and medical tourism.”TAT also has other campaigns aimed at European family travellers.

The TAT London office is organising “Father & Son, Mom & Me” campaigns for family travellers to undertake activities targetted at their personal preferences. Hence, fathers can play golf, mothers can enjoy a spa and cooking class, and children can participate in many play and fun activities.
