This summer break will again see some cooling joy for many kids when Disney on Ice returns to Bangkok with a new spectacular to whisk them on a captivating adventure.
‘Disney on Ice Presents Worlds of Fantasy’ will see four different Disney worlds brought to life at Impact Arena.
The action-packed Disney on Ice Presents Worlds of Fantasy will take families on a whirlwind tour of contemporary and classic Disney tales on the ice rink at Impact Arena, Muang Thong Thani, from March 25-28. Show times are 3pm and 7pm, plus an 11am matinee from Friday to Sunday.
As its title suggests, the show
dhrecreates imaginary worlds inspired by four popular Disney films _ Cars, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King and Tinker Bell _ and it promises to leave Thai fans, young and adult, utterly mesmerised.
The on-ice excitement begins when an adventurous Mickey Mouse
dhembarks on a journey with his girlfriend Minnie to uncover each world of fantasy. But the plan goes awry when their cherry red roadster unexpectedly breaks down.
Although Donald Duck and Goofy try to fix it, it takes the assistance of the coolest cars on the ice to get the pistons firing again.
The life-sized Cars characters from Radiator Springs _ Mater, McQueen, Sally, Flo and Ramone _ speed into action, zipping and zooming around the frozen highway in an effort to re-energise the roadster.
Each car is fitted-out with custom animatronics including blinking eyes and hydraulic lifts that bounce to the beat of the music.
As Mickey and Minnie's road trip continues, the whimsical scenery transforms the arena into an environment that captures the essence of each unique world to follow.
Fluorescent coral and clam shell drums embody Ariel's world in The Little Mermaid. A Saharan backdrop with a brilliant sun sets the stage for the regal Pride Rock in The Lion King. Wildebeest, zebras, ostriches and giraffes come alive in the form of cloth puppets ingeniously designed as
dhextensions of the performers, so that animal and skater coexist.
Mickey and Minnie end their journey by visiting Pixie Hollow, the mysterious land of Tinker Bell and her fellow fairies. Here the audiences will enjoy the tale of how the fairies prepare for spring.
