Williams technical director Sam Michael has said that the team is targeting a top ten qualifying and race position at this weekend's Chinese Grand Prix.

Having endured a poor start to the season, the team is yet to finish a race, and has said that it will be carrying out a full review in to the reasons why it has failed to deliver. Despite this, Michael said that points were the aim, and confirmed that Rubens Barrichello would be testing a Red Bull-style exhaust system during practice.

"We are still aiming for a top ten qualifying performance and to get some points on the board in Shanghai," Michael said. "We also have a new exhaust system for Rubens' car that we will test and evaluate on Friday."

Barrichello himself said that the team has yet to show its full potential, but was optimistic that the new update would prove successful and allow him to challenge further up the grid.

"We have an upgrade to the car this weekend which I hope will improve our speed and overall performance," Barrichello said. "It hasn't been a good start to the season for us as we are yet to finish a race where we belong, but I'm hoping the upgrade will help us to move forward."
