FDA – A surprise meeting for Marciello and Malsano

Maranello, 30 May – This was the first day of a two day Ferrari Driver Academy Course scheduled for the month of May. Brandon Maisano and Raffaele Marciello took to the track in an F3 Italia, in preparation for the second round of the championship that takes place at Misano this coming weekend. Having finished today’s programme which included track time and a high impact physical training sessions, the two drivers had a unique and unexpected opportunity of meeting Fernando Alonso and Giancarlo Fisichella to whom they expressed, not without some excitementm, their dream of one day driving a Formula 1 car. This is what both men are aiming for and that’s what motivates them to work hard. It’s a dream that makes the job of being a racing driver even more exciting.

When the day was over, the head of the programme, Luca Baldisserri expressed his satisfaction that the students work was on target. “They are both working hard and show dedication, trying to improve, concentrating on their weak points. Meeting two champions like Alonso and Fisichella gives them a further stimulus to work even harder and I am sure that both Brandon and Raffaele will get a lot out of this Formula 3 season.” Equally satisfying was the result obtained over the weekend by the youngest member of the Ferrari Driver Academy, Lance Stroll. In Genk for the first round of the Deutsche Kart Meistershaft, he finished in a well deserved third place in the DJKM category.

Tomorrow, another young talent from the Ferrari Driver Academy, Jules Bianchi, will be in action in Mugello, drivin the F60, the car that Scuderia Ferrar Marlboro ran in the 2009 Formula 1 World Championship.
