La Ferrari ospite d’onore alla Vernasca Silver Flag

Maranello, 27 June – the 2011 running of the Vernasca Silver Flag, a dynamic event featuring preserved and restored race cars, run by the Piacentino Historic Car Club, with support from Ferrari Club Italia and the Ferrari Museum, was this year entirely dedicated to the Maranello marquee. This was done to stress close links between the company and the world of racing and its commitment to the Historic Hillclimb.

The programme got underway on Saturday with scrutineering and briefings, followed by the start of the first runs up the hill, with the second and third runs taking place on Sunday, followed by the prizegiving.

Over thirty historic Ferraris tackled the 8.5 km climb that links Castell’Arquato with Vernasca. The Ferrari Classiche team was on hand to help owners entered in the event. Among the award winners, a Ferrari 375 MM took Best of Show post-war car,” while in the Sport, GT, Prototype and single seater the honours went respectively to a Ferrari 340 MM, 275 GTBC, 512 M and the 126 C4M2. The very special honour of the title of “Piacenza Circuit Best Ferrari” went to a 125 S which came from the Ferrari Museum.
