Ferrari Racing Days in Shanghai

Maranello, 22 July - This weekend, China’s Shanghai circuit hosts the Ferrari Racing Days event, which features two races in the Asia Pacific Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli championship and track time for the non-competitive F1 Clienti, FXX and 599XX programmes. The latter will complete some untimed laps as their owners can measure themselves up against professional drivers under the supervision of Ferrari engineers. Giancarlo Fisichella, who works with Scuderia Ferrari on the development of the Formula 1 car, will be the guest of honour in Shanghai, working as a special tutor, based on his Formula 1 and GT racing experience. Other special events over the weekend include track sessions for around 200 owners who will take to the track at the wheel of their own Ferraris.

Visitors to the event will be able to marvel at “The Dream of Ferrari in the Heart of China”, an amazing exhibition on loan from the Ferrari Museum in Maranello, which tells the story of the Prancing Horse, featuring a Ferrari 365 GTB4 Daytona, trophies won by the Scuderia, as well as historic videos and photos of the company and its cars. On show at the Shanghai circuit will be a Ferrari Testarossa, a 288 GTO and a Dino, on show alongside more recent models such as a California, a 458 Italia and a 599 GTB Fiorano.

The competitive part of the programme gets underway tomorrow with two qualifying sessions, to decide the grid for the two races which take place on Sunday at 10.20 and 14.35 local time.
