Hamilton won for McLaren in Hungary in both 2007 and 2009
McLaren's Lewis Hamilton believes he may have to wait until next season to truly challenge the Red Bulls of Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber.
Hamilton returned to winning ways at the German Grand Prix on Sunday, with championship leader Vettel only fourth.
But Hamilton said: "Maybe we'll turn up there [this weekend's Hungarian GP] and be quick.
"But I do think we will have to wait until next year before our car is as good as theirs. We'll see."
HAMILTON'S FORMULA 1 WINS
2007 - Canada, United States, Hungary, Japan
2008 - Australia, Monaco, Britain, Germany, China
2009 - Hungary, Singapore
2010 - Turkey, Canada, Belgium
2011 - China, Germany
Red Bull dominated in Hungary in 2010 and Hamilton expects them to be strong again there this weekend.
Hamilton has won at the twisty Hungaroring circuit in the past but it was Webber who won by 18 seconds there last year.
Webber has yet to win this season but Vettel has picked up six wins from 10 races to open up a 77-point lead over his team-mate at the top of the drivers' championship, with Hamilton five further back.
"If you look at Hungary last year the Red Bull was light years ahead of everyone," said Hamilton.
"But you can't expect them [Red Bull] to be perfect all the time.
"Sunday was one of their first down moments - and hopefully they'll have more - but we capitalised on it, and hopefully we'll be able to do that in the future."
