The long hot German summer continues as temperatures dived to 9º C this morning in the run up to the final hour of free practice. Sébastien Buemi and Jaime Alguersuari took their STR6 cars to seventeenth and eighteenth places respectively, our Swiss driver pleased to get in 21 laps, after suffering technical problems yesterday afternoon. Jaime did 19 laps this morning.
The Red Bull Racing duo asserted their superiority come the end of the hour, with Sebastian Vettel fastest ahead of Mark Webber. British GP winner, Fernando Alonso was third for Ferrari, followed by the McLaren duo with Lewis Hamilton ahead of fifth placed Jenson Button. Nico Rosberg was sixth for Mercedes. The session was run in dry conditions, but with steady winds blowing across the track, who knows what the clouds might bring for this afternoon’s qualifying.
