Great to see Rubens’ wife and children at the Hungarian Grand Prix this weekend. They’re staying in Rubens’ motorhome – yup, they’re four up in a space usually occupied by Rubens alone – and they’re eating all their meals in the AT&T Williams motorhome. The boys, Eduardo and Fernando, go back to school next week so Rubens and Silvana are keeping them on Brazilian time to avoid jetlag. They’re the ones making all the noise until midnight!

We hosted a motorhome dinner for Oris this evening. Pastor Maldonado spoke to the guests about his prospects for tomorrow’s race – “It’s going to be very tough, but we never give up” – and chefs Adam and Jonny served up some of Michael Caines’ signature dishes. Makes your mouth water just thinking about it (the food, not the Hungarian GP – ed)!

McLaren threw a party this evening to celebrate Jenson Button’s 200th grand prix. There was a grand turnout: Frank Williams made a speech, as did Ross Brawn and Martin Whitmarsh, and Jenson said a few words as well. “When people mentioned 200 to me,” said Jenson, “I thought they were referring to the number of PR days I’ve done this year…” All drivers seem to moan about their PR commitments, but you can’t have the egg without the chicken!

Red Bull Racing became only the second team this year to break the mechanics’ curfew last night (the other being HRT at the Australian GP). Each team can play four jokers before they’re forced to start both cars from the pitlane, so there are no immediate consequences for RBR, but their curfew-busting antics reflect just how hard they’re pushing at the moment. Yikes!
