Fisker Karma – the electric desire

Fisker has already delivered the first Karma copy. The client is Leonardo di Caprio, but other celebrities are waiting patiently their electric model, 3,000 units already being reserved.


The car manufacturer founded by Henrik Fisker, former Aston Martin designer, created an electric model with an aluminum chassis, equipped with two electric motors and a gasoline engine to charge the centrally mounted batteries. The first client for Fisker Karma is Leonardo di Caprio, but the British from Autocar report that Al Gore and Colin Powell are also on the waiting list for Karma.
















The Valmet factory from Finland produces five units per week but the pace will be increased to 300 units per week from November. By early 2012, is expected to sell all Fisker Karma units available to the public. Saloon, convertible and shooting-brake models of the Karma will eventually be produced, with the latter set to be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, all will be offered for sale in limited series.

With the first Fisker Karma copy already been sold to Leonardo di Caprio and lots of other customers waiting, the story of Fisker is only beginning, already considering widening its range with a number of new model variants. Fisker will submit a BMW 3 Series rival in early 2013. For now, it is called Project Nina. The series version will be priced around $ 40.000 and will be offered in three body versions. The new Fisker Nina is expected to be sold in 100,000 units per year.

Henrik Fisker said that electric vehicles will become very popular in the coming years, making a very interesting parallel with the rise of flat-screen TVs and iPhone.
