Lotus owner and team principal Tony Fernandes has completed his takeover of Premier League side Queens Park Rangers.
Fernandes has acquired a 66% stake in the club, purchasing the shares of previous majority shareholders Bernie Ecclestone and Flavio Briatore. Ecclestone had been willing to sell the club after a breakdown in relations with the Mittal family, who have retained a 33% stake. Fernandes was seen at Loftus Road with Briatore on Saturday, and has now added QPR to his ventures alongside Team Lotus, AirAsia and the Tune Group.
Fernandes had previously shown an interest in purchasing West Ham United, as well as hinting at a tie-up between Norfolk-based Team Lotus and Norwich City, although Norwich has since gone in to partnership with Group Lotus.
