Razia: hoping to race in Brazil

Team Lotus test driver Luiz Razia is determined to enter Formula One next season as a full-time race driver but admits sponsorship is a problem.

Razia joined Team Lotus this season after signing up with Tony Fernandes' Team AirAsia outfit in the GP2 Series.

The Brazilian, though, is keen to move up and is hoping to get the opportunity to race for the team in November's Brazilian Grand Prix at Interlagos, thereby giving him a better chance of finding a drive for next season.

"There is a possibility," Razia told Globo Esporte.

"We are working to get sponsors for next year and it could be a way to start early. It is a situation that also involves other factors

"The initial conversation has been going on since June. We are working for 2012, but why not start in Brazil? We are in negotiations."

He added: "It is very difficult for me; no one knows who is Luiz Razia. Over the years I've been trying to build my career.

"There are 20 Brazilian drivers out there and I think not everyone has a sponsor. If we cannot change that then few Brazilians are going to be racing in the future."
