11.09.08 2011 Formula One Japanese Grand Prix Kamui Kobayashi’s Invitation Program for the children of the disaster-affected regions

F1 Driver, Kamui Kobayashi(Ambassador of the Sports Tourism) recently announced about his decision to invite a group of children from one of the disaster-affected regions of Japan to come see the Formula One Japanese Grand Prix race staged at Suzuka Circuit in Mie Prefecture, this coming October 9th. Those children invited this time by this F1 driver who Japan can be proud of, are the members and families of “MJC Ensemble”, a girls choir group whose performance activities are mainly in Minami-Soma city of Fukushima Prefecture. It is going to be a total of 60 guests from this group visiting Suzuka this time.

Since the Great East Japan Earthquake Crisis, the members of the MJC Ensemble have sung at various events in many regions supported by official organizations such as the Japanese Ministry of Tourism, as ways to indicate their gratefulness to many localities that have provided relief support to the victims in their home regions where considerable damages were caused.

And this time, their sincere wish to “Express thanks, also show Japan’s resilience to the world”, and Kamui Kobayashi’s gesture of goodwill to “Show the children of the affected regions the spectacles of Formula One … And by doing so, deliver our message to the world that Japan will stay strong” – as such, the hearts connected, came to one, and pushed the idea of offering this special invitation program to fruit.

On Sunday, the invitees will not only enjoy watching the F1 race as spectators on Kamui Supporters’ Stand, but will also be singing the National Anthem in the ceremony preceding the Race.

Thus, on October 9th the voices of the girls choir from Fukushima will reach approximately 160 countries through international feed, as they convey their heartfelt thanks to the great relief and support provided from all over the world, also that East Japan is definitely determined to be strong.

Kamui Kobayashi – Formula One Driver

“I decided to have the children from Minami-Soma visit the F1 event and watch the race in real life! And not only that, the girls choir will also sing us the National Anthem before the Race! In fact, initially I was going to ask many more people from the affected-regions to attend with this invitation, but in the mean time Mr. Bernie Ecclestone with the same purpose is providing a truly fantastic plan to invite as many as 3000 guests to the event! So given that, what I can contribute to my home as a F1 driver is to backup and present the heartsome singing of these children towards the world, let everybody know how deeply grateful and robust Japan is, all in one.”
