Checo Perez had a successful test with the Ferrari F60

Maranello, Italy, September 15, 2011 – Checo Pérez drove today the Ferrari F60., car used by the Scuderia for the F1 World Championship 2009. He Could drive 35 laps around the 3.021 kilometers and 12 turns Fiorano Circuit, property of Ferrari.
Sergio drove 35 laps in 7 different periods of time and from his first stint the Sauber F1 Team driver got hold of the car rapidly and found its Speedy, showing himself aggressive and quite distinctively, which called Luca Baldisieri’s attentio, director of the Ferrari Driver Academy (FDA) and didn’t want to compare Checo with any other driver, saying he’s got his “own peculiar style”.
Baldisieri also mentioned he had been pleasingly surprised by Sergio’s ability to adapt to such a different from the one he’s driving at F1 today, a car that has no DRS or KERS and that has GP” tires, since the FIA regulations sets it this way. But besides all that Checo did an excellent job and has given Scuderia Ferrai a good performance.
This test is part of the training program the FDA has for its drivers, it has been a successful test for Checo Pérez an for the Ferrari Driver Academy. The time is not graded but the Mexican driver has done an excellent performance, he was evaluated for his development in the car and the information the engineers team obtain. And in that matter, Baldisieri said, “he’s done very good”.
Sergio said, “It’s been quite a special day for me, I want to thank Ferrari for the opportunity of testing its car. I will never forget this day!”
About the speculation of a possible signing with Ferrari Team Checo mentioned that their just that, speculations. “For now I’m with Sauber F1 Team and will be throughout 2011. I’m concentrated with working with them, however is quite pleasing to think about a possibility of racing for Ferrari one day.”
Finally Checo said, “I’ve been working all week at the simulator and preparing for this last rounds of the F1 season, I hope we have a good season’s finish.” And he added, “Thanks to all and Viva México!”
