An important week for FOTA

Maranello, 18 October – These are important times for the future of FOTA. After a meeting last Sunday, held in the Ferrari team hospitality unit at the Yeongam circuit, the Team Principals of the eleven teams that make up the organisation, will meet again in Abu Dhabi at the time of the penultimate Grand Prix of the season. There, it should become clear if a long lasting agreement can be reached on some key themes such as the RRA (Resource Restriction Agreement) as well as the future outlook for the top level of motor sport. “FOTA has played an incredible role in recent years,” Stefano Domenicali told www.ferrari.com. “Its achievements meant that this sport was able to tackle the global crisis in an efficient manner. The impetus that came under Montezemolo’s presidency has been carried forward with diligence and dedication by Martin Whitmarsh, who is doing a great job. Clearly, at this stage however, we need to understand how to move forward without leading to suspicions and polemics, elements that are always present in such a competitive environment as Formula 1.”
