iWitness in Abu Dhabi: Thursday
Posted on Friday 11 Nov 2011
Air conditioning to keep the garages cool, kitchens in the team hospitality suites big enough to feed an army and hotels that are just a short walk away. Add performances by Britney Spears and Paul McCartney into the mix and there’s only one conclusion to draw: it’s the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix!
Not that everyone at AT&T Williams was happy to leave India. Our maitre d’ Jo Turley went on holiday to Goa after the race, staying in a lovely B&B that cost her just £18 per night. “It was fabulous,” says Jo. “I’d recommend the area to anyone: the beaches were gorgeous and the people were so friendly and helpful.” Next year’s Indian Grand Prix is scheduled for 28 October…
Due to an uninterrupted 50-day business trip in Qatar, Frank Williams hasn’t attended a race since Monza in September. Welcome back, boss! Dare we suggest that a month in the Middle Eastern sun has made you look younger?
It’s Movember! The moustache-growing month is back with us and it’s great to see Jenson Button sprouting a Mansell-esque ’tache to help raise awareness of men’s cancers. Who’ll join JB with a slug on the upper lip?
