SEMA Show 2010: Mopar – Rich Evans Challenger

Mopar proudly displayed at SEMA Show 2010 the Challenger, the result of their collaboration with the great car-builder, Rich Evans. Even though there were lots of gorgeous Mustangs at SEMA, there seemed to be no real competition for the Rich Evans Challenger at the 2010 Show.

The Rich Evans Challenger resulted after six months of hard work for both Mopar and Rich Evans. However, both parts enjoyed participating in this project. “This is one of the coolest and most interesting projects I have ever had the pleasure to work on. Collaborating with the Mopar team has been a blast. The hardest part was going through Mopar catalogs and deciding which parts and accessories to use”, said Rich Evans.

Rich Evans wished to give the Chalenger a unique look that made it stand out of the crowd.

“The current generation of enthusiasts are all about being different and personalizing their car” Thus, starting from this belief, Rich Evans chose for the exterior blue and silver hues, highlighted by an interesting graphic scheme. In addition, the exterior body kit for Rich Evans Challenger, chosen by Mopar and Rich Evans, includes rocket panels on both sides, a front lower spoiler, a hood scoop, rear flares, a rear wing and rear bumper lower spoiler.

The interior of the Rich Evans Challenger matches perfectly with the exterior. In order to obtain a pure blue colored suede for the upholstery, Evans collaborated with Katzkin. Moreover, Katzkin provided the suede, leather and stitching for the side panels, headliner, armrest, package tray, central console, floor mats, carpet, rear trunk panels and sun visors. Evans chose Grant to create the steering wheel with blue stitching and blue suede.

In terms of performance, Rich Evans Challenger is a real muscle car. Mopar equipped the Challenger with a 415-cid HEMI All-Aluminum Gen III Engine Assembly releasing over 550 horsepower. Mopar have completed their customization by adding a suspension kit, a cold air intake system, strut tower braces in the front and rear sides of the muscle car, a new shifter, a Cat Back Exhaust System and a vented T/A style hood.

For the entire customization there were used original Mopar parts, Rich Evans Exlusive parts and some of the best aftermarket suppliers. The estimated cost of the aftermarket parts used on the Rich Evans Challenger is believed to be of 6,300 $.

All in all, Rich Evans and Mopar have a lot of reasons to be satisfied with their project as Rich Evans Challenger glistened at SEMA Show 2010 as a true work of art.
