Merc reject Marko's Vettel claims
Mercedes motorsport chief Norbert Haug has dismissed claims by Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko that the Brackley-based team want to sign World Champion Sebastian Vettel.
Marko told Austria's Kleine Zeitung that both Ferrari and Mercedes are interested in signing the 2010 F1 Champ, saying "Mercedes expresses quite an interest in him" despite knowing that he has a contract with Red Bull.
He added that Vettel would not "swap to Ferrari as long as Fernando Alonso is there - otherwise he would be stupid".
However, Haug has dismissed suggestions that Mercedes have made an offer for Vettel, insisting they are very happy with their current line-up.
"We have not made World Champion Sebastian Vettel an offer," Haug told the German Press Agency dpa. "We have exactly the drivers we wanted in Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg."
Haugh, though, did warn Red Bull that if they fail to provide Vettel with the best car than he could join another team.
