- The observance of the ‘kong khao’ religious ritual and other customs related to the celebration of the Thai New Year
- The ‘Kong khao’ consecration ritual is performed by Brahmin priests and is accompanied by a ritual dance.
- Procession of Buddha images
- The ritual bathing of Buddha images at Wat Sri Maharaja temple
- Scented lustral water is sprinkled or poured on sacred Buddha images.
- Rot nam dam hua ceremony Scented lustral water is presented to elders and individuals held in high esteem in a gesture of respect.
- Procession of ‘kong kao’ floats
- Sand-stupa building contest
- Folk games
- Sales of local food and desserts
- Miss Songkran beauty contest
- Water-splashing
