Official: BMW 6 Series Coupé

BMW has published today a complete set of information and images of the new 6 Series Coupe. It comes with a diesel version: 640d, and all-wheel drive: xDrive.


After his brother BMW 6 Series Convertible drew waves of appreciation, the new BMW 6 Series Coupe give up to camouflage. Already the third generation 6 Series Coupe adopts the same design lines as those of the Cabriolet, but offering a slightly better profile and a somewhat larger trunk that can swallow up to 460 liters.

Compared to the old generation, the new BMW 6 Series Coupe has grown by 7.5 centimeters (2.95 inches), dimension best reflected inside, where the rear passengers benefit from some more room. Width has also increased by 3.9 centimeters (1.53 inches).

The new 6 Series Coupe comes available with three engine versions, two petrol and one diesel. All benefiting from the latest technological developments Efficient Dynamics and services of an automatic transmission with eight reports.

640i and 640d diesel versions have, in addition to Start-Stop function, the Eco Pro function, which improves fuel consumption and emissions. In premiere for 6 Series, BMW inserted the all-wheel drive xDrive, but only available on top of the range: 650i.















BMW 6 Series Coupe customers can opt for the latest Bavarian technologies including Integral Active Steering, Driving Dynamic, Dynamic Damper Control and Adaptive Drive. On the inside ambient LED lights can be found, iDrive system, Active Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, 360-degree camera view, Night Vision and many other gadgets that we can find also on the options list for 5 Series and 7 Series.

The novelty in terms of the engine is the 3.0-liter diesel 313 hp and 630 Nm. The resources allow the BMW 6 Series Coupe to reach 100km/h (60 mph) in 5.5 seconds and achieve an average consumption of only 5.5 litres/100 km.

The petrol versions, 640i and 650i are already familiar to the new 6 Series fans, from the Cabrio version. They offer 320 respectively 407 horsepower and can guarantee a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (60 mph) in 5.4 respectively 4.9 seconds.
